If you are leaving behind your student accommodation Coventry and returning home for Christmas there are a few things you will want to remember to do.
First and perhaps most importantly is to secure your accommodation as best you can against break ins. This is as simple as making sure you lock all of your windows and doors. If you share your accommodation with others make sure they do the same. It is particularly important at this time of year because would be thieves know that students will most likely be returning home for Christmas.
As well as making sure your accommodation is secure you should avoid leaving things on show through windows and where possible take items of particular value with you just in case. You might also consider leaving some lights on timers to give the impression that you’re still there.
In addition to security concerns you will most likely want to return home to a comfortable, relaxing place after the holidays. It’s a great idea to do any tidying and cleaning before you leave so that you don’t have to worry about it when get back. You might also consider leaving your heating on a timer to perhaps just come on for an hour or two every day. You’d be surprised what a difference this makes when you come back. Just that little bit of heating can make for a much warmer home overall.
Don’t forget to take all your presents with you when you leave and most importantly enjoy your break away from University and catching up with your family and friends back home. Don’t have too much fun though, the hard work starts again in January.
